Convents:
There are three convents from different congregations functioning shoulder to shoulder in this parish:
1. St. Catherine Convent
On 18th March 1979, the first convent in india, of St. Catherine Congrigation was established in karanakodam.
2. Sacret Heart Convent
The sacred heart convent (Kothamangalam) was established at karanakkodam on 15th October 1981
3. Sisters of the Destitute
On 5th October 1990, the SD sisters (Chunamgamvely) established a small house at Thammanam. Their area of service were among the poorest of the poor in the Kissan Colony.
